GUY FREIXE MASTERCLASS AND WORKSHOP: THE MASQUE IN EUROPEAN THEATRE AND AN INTRODUCTION TO THE MASQUE PLAY
We invite you to a masterclass and workshop with Guy Freix on the theatrical mask.
On October 14 and 15, 2026, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts will host a masterclass Mask in European Theatre and a practical workshop Introduction to Mask Play led by French lecturer Guy Freix. The masterclass will present the three main periods of the importance of the mask in European theatre in the form of an interactive lecture and is suitable for students of theatre and art departments. The workshop focuses on working with commedia dell'arte half masks and Balinese topeng masks, with participants improvising based on dramatic themes. The event is primarily intended for students of acting, theatre dramaturgy and directing. Admission is free, registration is open until October 4, 2026. The workshop consists of two consecutive parts and participation on both days is recommended.
