The documentary about Ján Štrasser was created thanks to the support of the Tatra banka Foundation
In collaboration with students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, a short documentary film Ján Štrasser: Tvár v zrkadle, was created, which offers a sensitive portrait of a significant figure in Slovak literature - writer, poet, translator and publicist Ján Štrasser.
The film was made as part of the Artfilm course under the guidance of Mgr. art. Marek Janičík, ArtD., who guided the students through the process of preparation, development and filming of the documentary. The project was supported by the Tatra Banka Foundation through the ART grant programme focused on audiovisual creation.
The project was directed by student Noémi Maťašová, who also submitted the project to the grant programme. The camera was in the hands of Valery Neskaradziany and the dramaturgy was handled by Matúš Gálik. The team created a visually and content-impressive documentary that captures not only Štrasser's work, but also his perspective on life, art, and society.
The creation of the film was not only the result of artistic ambition, but also a practical exercise that allowed the students to experience all phases of documentary filmmaking, from concept development to production and post-production. They gained invaluable experience that they will take with them into their future professional careers in film and audiovisual production.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Tatra Banka Foundation, which has long helped young talents develop and implement meaningful artistic projects during their studies.
