Ján Zachara is a Slovak Olympic champion who won the gold medal in the flyweight category at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Despite his advanced age of 94, Ján Zachara is still an active person who even still visits the boxing club in Dubnica nad Váhom and helps with its activities. Thanks to the support of the Tatrabanka Foundation, students of the Academy of Arts, the Department of Film Dramaturgy and Screenwriting, and the Department of Documentary Film were able to learn more about this famous athlete and were given the opportunity to work on films that would introduce Mr. Zachara to the audience. Thanks to the students, several short documentaries were created and an extended plot with a storyline for a feature film about the life of this legendary athlete. The films will soon be presented to the public.
