Students and graduates FDUAU BB have been cooperating with the Puppet Theatre at Rázcestí in Banská Bystrica for years. Many students and graduates of the Department of Acting and the Department of Dramaturgy, Directing and Theatrology are familiar with the premises of Villa Dominika. We are pleased that we have also officially sealed this cooperation by signing the Memorandum of Cooperation on November 16, 2021, and on this occasion, Ľubomír Viluda, Dean FDUAU BB, spoke with Iveta Škripková, director of the theatre, about planned joint activities and projects in the calendar year 2022.
The next joint event, a happening on the square in Banská Bystrica, will be the Night of Theatres 2021 / 13,725 White CrossesWe also thank Iveta Škripková for the October Creative Writing workshop, which took place as part of the international festival of art universities organized by FDU AU BB, Artorium Reštart 2021.
The Puppet Theatre at the Crossroads in Banská Bystrica is a professional cultural and artistic institution that has been active on the Slovak cultural scene since 1960. Its founder is the Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region. It creates and publicly performs theatrical works for all age categories, from toddlers to adults. It is also the main organizer of the international festival of contemporary puppet theatre for children and adults in Banská Bystrica and the surrounding area, Bábkarská Bystrica TOUR. The term Crossroads defines what theatrical means of expression the theatre uses in practice; it is not a classic puppet theatre; in addition to puppetry, it chooses various forms of syncretic and alternative theatre; in its artistic and authorial work, it seeks a contemporary theatrical language.
