Pôtoň Theatre and Cultural Centre operates as a professional artistic and cultural organisation in the Slovak countryside, which is what makes it unique. It has a wide portfolio of activities and has dozens of successfully implemented projects of a local, national and international dimension. One of its long-term goals is to bring together contemporary non-commercial art and the local community, which would otherwise not have access to such art. The aim of the cultural centre and theatre is to offer its audience important impulses and reflections on the problems of contemporary society. As a strong communication channel, theatre has the ability to have an inspiring effect on its audience, which is why Pôtoň focuses on developing positive values ​​and pro-social behaviour in its work, creating space for discussion and re-evaluation of attitudes, and drawing attention to burning issues. The most frequently treated themes of the Pôtoň are timeless - topics such as poverty, emigration, finding a home, national identity, xenophobia and loss of values ​​are still sensitive and topical in Slovakia. The work of the Pôtoň has won several awards and is of interest at international Slovak and foreign festivals. Pôtoň As part of the activities of the cultural centre in the countryside, Pôtoň has been actively involved in projects of international importance, both as a partner and a leading organisation. Thanks to these activities, the region in which Pôtoň Theatre and Cultural Centre Pôtoň is the implementation of artistic residencies. Pôtoň Since 2009, Pôtoň focuses primarily on visual art, site-specific projects, new media, and performing arts, including contemporary dance and physical theatre, but also on music projects and literature. Since 2015, it has also provided space for art theorists. Theatre Theatre is also involved in projects aimed at community cooperation, networking of artistic groups, informal education of youth and adults and the development of cultural, social and intellectual life in the region.
