We are very much looking forward to the cooperation that we, as a faculty, have established with the ACTORES Rožňava City Theatre and sealed this cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation on August 31, 2021.
On September 17, 2021, as part of the international festival TEMPUS ART 2021, organized by this theatre, students of the Department of Documentary Filmmaking at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts were able to present themselves FDU screening short documentary films in the TEMPUS CINEMA section.
We look forward to further joint projects!
The ACTORES Rožňava City Theatre was founded in 1994 and its first performance was the author's absurd production Plot, which made the theatre famous not only at home but also abroad. So far, the theatre has created over seventy productions, with which we address children, youth and adult audiences. Its dramaturgy consists of diverse productions from author's productions, comedies, musicals, works by world authors, award-winning international theatre hits, fairy tales, street performances, to productions where the texts communicate with the audience about serious and current social issues. In addition to traditional theatre forms, Actores is always looking for new ways of expressing itself, reflecting current theatre trends. It collaborates with leading personalities: playwrights, directors, guest actors, set designers. Throughout its history, ACTORES has become part of the Slovak theatre community, presenting its performances abroad at various international festivals and events (Egypt, Canada, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Serbia, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, India, Hungary, Germany) and has won several awards. Among them: The Best International Production Award, the Best Direction Award, the Foreign Theatre Critics' Award for the Most Original Acting Performances, the Literary Fund Awards for Acting and Directing Performances. The theatre is the holder of the Highest Award of the Košice Self-Governing Region for 2019 and has twice won the highest city award, the Rožňava CITY AWARD. In addition to its main activity - managing the theatre and creating productions - Actores also organizes various cultural events. It is the organizer of international events - the international jazz festival GemerJazzFest, which was attended by musicians from Slovakia, the V4 countries and the USA. The second major event is the international festival of alternative theatres TEMPUS ART.
