The 13th annual ARTORIUM festival will question the value of art in society
This year, the international ARTORIUM festival will once again offer high-quality theatre performances from foreign universities, but you can also look forward to productions from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
The festival will open with the performance CHUDAĆZEK, which will come from Prague, but will tell us about our roots, the Slovak Highlands and pine. Students from Wrocław will come with the performanceWOMAN AND LIFE, which responds to the tightening of abortion laws in Poland. It is a brisk performance, rich in visual elements. Students from Serbia are an integral part of our programme - this time, however, the invitation was accepted by the University of Belgrade, which will come with Orwell's ANIMAL FARM. Our Bratislava colleagues have prepared THE CREMATOR, which, like the film, is based on the original by Ladislav Fuks. The Academy of Arts has included the performances STUART, MEDEA and CHARLIE'S LITTLE SECRETS.
Since this is a festival with international participation, the performances will have English subtitles. Discussions will also be interpreted into Slovak if necessary.
In addition to the theater, the PROGRAMME also invites you to the screening of films by students of documentary filmmaking, or a selection of the best from the AZYL festival. It also invites you to an exhibition of works by students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and a musical-chanson evening performed by students of the Faculty of Performing Arts. There will also be an evening "off programme", which will take place in Club 77. Discussions after the performances and workshops are an integral part of the festival. This year's lecturers will bring creative workshops focused on acting, directing and dance. The invitation was accepted by director Júlia Rázusová, actor, director, playwright and clown doctor - Ján Mikuš and the excellent dance couple Barbora Blašková and Tomáš Džadžovský. REGISTRATION is required for the workshops .
Admission to all performances, workshops and accompanying events is free. RESERVATION of seats for performances is possible through our reservation system.
The event was supported by public funds from the Arts Support Fund, the main partner of the project
