ARCHIVE FILM DAYS 2022 – CENTENARY
Days of Archival Film / DAF 2022 is a five-day selection of archival films, combined with a presentation of the activities of the Slovak Film Institute - National Film Archive.
DAF 2022 is held on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Slovak cinema. Archive films from the SFI NFA fund will be screened exclusively from the original 35mm film copies. The screenings will be complemented by lectures and discussions on the history of national cinema, with the personal participation of prominent creators and personalities of Slovak film. Thematically focused lecture blocks, presentations and accompanying events will take place at the venues of the DAF 2022 programme - in the premises FDUAU and FK in the SNP Museum in Banská Bystrica.
Each film section will form a double programme, in which the individual parts complement, compete, and contradict each other. Invited lecturers will provide introductions and discussions about the films with the audience. The organizer's effort is to bring the centenary of film closer to the professional and lay public, both through talking about individual chapters in the history of our film and also through bringing the original film medium closer to us.
